Free Tuning Clinics

Alpine Base & Edge hosts "free" ski and board tuning clinics every Tuesday and Thursday night from October through February every season. These clinics are designed to teach participants the basics of ski maintenance and repair. There are a series of three clinics which are given in succession:

  • edge preparation for sharpening/base cleaning /p-tex repair;
  • sidewall planing/edge sharpening/edge beveling/final edge polishing;
  • base hot iron waxing/scraping/structure brushing.

More technical information on base structures and specific race waxing is covered on an “as needed” basis. Participants are encouraged to bring one pair of skis or a snowboard and any tuning tools they own, in order to practice "hands-on" the techniques taught in the class. No reservations are required and there is a 20% discount offered on all tools and waxes purchased after the clinic!

The clinics are geared towards ages 12 years and up. There is no limit to the number of times people attend and the clinics don’t have to be taken in order. We hope you show up as often as your schedules allow!
